About the project
Aims
This project aims to provide needed practical resources for teachers and educational institutions to address the problem of ESL by preventing & tackling bullying. The project also aims to support the Europe 2020 Strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, which was adopted by European Heads of State and Government in June 2010. The project contributes to efforts to combat bullying by applying a school education methodology using creative arts, play and enjoyment as key features to ensure bullying is effectively addressed.
Art as an anti-bullying tool.
Our materials provide information on how to use creative arts to effectively solve the problem of bullying at schools. The use of art in tackling bullying is more common in arts events or social media campaigns, whereas the use of art in working with children who have been the victims of bullying often happens in individual therapeutic sessions.
With Handbook, Training Kit, Training Materials teachers are provided with theoretical knowledge and practical solutions that can be used in real-life school setting to propagate anti-bullying behaviours. Methods and activities proposed are fun and creative way to enrich and entertain the students involved in anti-bullying activities.
Early School Leavers (ESL)
Pupils have the right to enjoy their school life and acquire knowledge and skills that will set them on the path to success. A child who is bullied at school is not likely to look forward to going to school because ) they don’t want to be humiliated in front of other children. Some of the children are leaving school early with fewer qualifications, if any.In consequence they’re forced to take job positions for low-skilled workers that are perceived as unattractive or they’re experiencing long-term unemployment. The psychological effects can last for a long time. Lack of self-confidence and inability to be assertive are two common effects bullying can have on children (and adults). Young people who are the targets of bullies, as well as those who are engaged in bullying, are at risk of underachieving and becoming Early School Leavers (ESL).
